Next Thursday (10/100), the Casa de Cultura Heloísa Alberto Torres (CCHAT), in the Center, opens its doors to the exhibition “Guardiãs do Samba”, by Aninha Portal. In this opening, the multi-artist from Pará pays homage to female samba artists and the feminine universe, through 53 paintings, which pay tribute to Alcione, Beth Carvalho, Leci Brandão, Clara Nunes, Tia Gessy, Clemen

Tina de Jesus, Dorina, among others. It is worth mentioning that the event will feature a live samba circle and free admission, starting at 6 pm.

The exhibition, which will be on display until November 6, presents an explosion of colors, textures and flowers that evoke spring. Using acrylic paint on canvas, abstract art, pointillism and collage, the artist presents her vision of the feminine soul in a cheerful and colorful exhibition. During this opening, the samba circle will feature the participation of several guest artists, big names in samba and musicians from Itaboraí.

The manager of the Casa de Cultura Heloísa Alberto Torres (CCHAT), Alan Mota, stated that Aninha Portal's talent is surprising.

“Aninha Portal, besides being a great friend, is someone who believed in our project at the Casa de Cultura. She was at the Casa de Cultura from the very beginning, participated in several activities, such as the Labor Day show in 2021 and the Mother’s Day show last year, and has always been a bridge between us and the world of samba. But her talent for several other arts, especially visual arts, is something that surprises. The paintings in this exhibition are stunningly beautiful. The quality of her work and her sensitivity will delight everyone who comes to see the Guardians of Samba exhibition,” concluded Alan Mota.

Throughout her successful career in the world of samba, Aninha Portal has made friends and formed partnerships, and many of these artists have already confirmed their presence at the opening of her first exhibition. Aninha Portal highlighted the importance of this achievement and where the inspiration for this exhibition came from.

“The title, Guardians of Samba, comes from my understanding that all of us, in this case, who love samba, who live and fight for this Brazilian heritage, are guardians, responsible for its maintenance, preservation and continuity. Responsible for safeguarding the legacy left by so many trailblazers, such as Tia Ciata, Dona Ivone Lara and so many goddesses of samba, who paved the way and fought so that today women could occupy their place and be respected as samba dancers in fact and by right. The exhibition pays homage to these matriarchs and the new generation, who will not let samba die,” said the artist.
