WORKSHOPS
The Casa de Cultura Heloísa Alberto Torres offers free workshops that promote creativity, preserve cultural traditions and encourage artistic learning for different age groups, all free of charge. Part of its programming is aimed at the defense and insertion of the intangible heritage of Itaboraí and Brazil, ensuring that these cultural expressions are valued and perpetuated. THEATER WORKSHOP

Schedules: Wednesday, 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm; Saturday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Aimed at the public from 10 years old, the theater workshop aims to provide access to culture and stimulate artistic development. During the classes, participants learn about basic theater techniques, creativity, body expression and voice. At the end of each semester, students perform a great presentation at the Theater Exhibition promoted by CCHAT.
CLAY ART WORKSHOP ON THE LATHE
Opening hours: Tuesday and Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Age range: All ages

Bringing back a notable tradition from Itaboraí, this workshop is a hands-on experience in which participants learn basic pottery techniques under the guidance and supervision of an experienced potter. Each participant creates their own clay vase and can pick it up after one month. Everything is offered free of charge, encouraging connection with local culture and artistic manual work.

The Casa also offers a free capoeira course for children, teenagers and adults from the age of 5. The workshop promotes the practice of this genuinely Brazilian cultural expression, combining art, movement and music in a dynamic and welcoming environment.

In partnership with poet and poet Zé Salvador, the Cordel Literature workshop presents the fundamentals of this Brazilian art, addressing its history, metrics and characteristic rhymes. During the classes, participants created original pamphlets, such as “O Cordel em Ação Ocupando o Seu Espaço” and “A Visita de Zé Salvador a Itaboraí”. The productions were launched at a special graduation event, highlighting the talent and creativity of the students.
