The Heloísa Alberto Torres Cultural Center is a mansion representative of 19th century Brazilian urban architecture, acquired in 1963 by sisters Heloísa and Maria Alberto Torres with the aim of transforming this space into a cultural center.
Today, the Casa de Cultura hosts art exhibitions, shows, guided tours, film screenings, popular culture, soirees, and theater, capoeira and clay art workshops, as well as several cultural attractions that are completely free and open to the public.
