The late afternoon of this Tuesday (12/10) was full of beauty, art and emotion. The Casa de Cultura Heloísa Alberto Torres (CCHAT), in the city center, hosted the parade and the exhibition of pieces produced by students of the Escola Municipal de Artes Professor Washington Luiz José da Costa. The event celebrated the school's 35th anniversary and marked the last opening of an exhibition by CCHAT in 2024. The exhibitions will remain open to the public until January 2, 2025, with free admission.

The manager of the Casa de Cultura, Alan Mota, highlighted the impact of the work carried out in recent years.
“It is a feeling of duty fulfilled. It has been four years since we opened the doors of the Casa de Cultura to all people, artists and talents, whether they know the history or not. Mission given, mission accomplished. The mayor trusted us, and we are here proving that it is possible to achieve great things”, said the manager.

The event began with a fashion show, featuring clothes made by students of the sewing course at the Municipal School of Arts. This was followed by the opening of the gastronomy workshop, with an exhibition of cakes prepared by the participants.

The public was also able to enjoy the exhibition of clay pieces created by the artisan potter Isaías Moreira. Afterwards, the drawing and painting classes, led by professor Robson de Figueiredo, delighted the spectators with their works.
The director of the Municipal School of Arts, Verônica Antunes, emphasized the importance of this moment.
“We ended this cycle with a flourish. The school, which is the first public school of arts in the state of Rio de Janeiro, found the Casa de Cultura a welcoming space at different times. It is an honor to be here, in this house that represents so much for culture. Having a full house is exciting. We are currently in the pre-registration period and, on the second day, we have already registered 500 people. The school is about to be revitalized and is experiencing the best moment in its history, now with its own resources and more possibilities to dream and make things happen”, said the director.

The event reinforced the role of the Municipal School of Arts and the Casa de Cultura as centers for the promotion and dissemination of culture in Itaboraí, ending the year with remarkable celebrations and promises of future growth.
